“It’s hard to say ‘Sparkle Cone’™ without smiling,” say 24-year-old Kimberly Elam, ice cream entrepreneur, referring to the latest creation of the popular Kimmer’s Ice Cream in St. Charles. With a contagious smile herself, it’s obvious that Elam loves what she does and puts that love into every amazing gourmet flavor created at the shop, across the street from the Blue Goose in Downtown St.Charles.
“We take our inspiration from other gourmet cuisine… Maple Bacon and Cinnamon Pecan from breakfast favorites, Caramel Sea Salt and Double Dark Chocolate from gourmet chocolate shops, Aztec Hot Chocolate from the coffee counter, Ricotta Fig, and Peach Marscapone from gourmet fruit and cheese combos, and Mimosa and Wine Sorbets from favorite cocktails. It’s a fun indulgence,” she says.
The all-natural flavors are sourced locally, and provide a clean finish to each flavor. Cradled in home made waffle cones, chocolate-dipped waffle bowls or pretzel cones, these flavors and dozens more are raised to a truly decadent level. Add Parent Trap – cookies and cream with peanut butter ribbons, and classic vanilla bean, and there’s something for everyone. The Sparkle Cone™? It’s a sugar cone spangled in holographic confectionary silver and hot pink crystal sugar that’s becoming a runaway hit with kids of all ages.
Kimmer’s also features shakes, smoothies and a dizzying array of ice cream pie and cake flavors. Open Monday – Saturday noon – 9pm and Sunday noon – 8pm, Kimmer’s also offers parties, and pints, quarts, ice cream bars and huge chocolate chip cookie sandwiches to go.
